Nexon Dream Members’ Game Production Presentation Successfully Concludes
Nexon today announced the successful conclusion of the 2024 Nexon Dream Members (NDM) game production presentation.
NDM is a game production club sponsorship program that Nexon has been running since 2007. The presentation, which was held for the second time since last year, aims to discover and foster young talents in the game industry.
At the event, which was held on the 20th, 37 projects developed by 140 students from eight game production clubs from seven universities were submitted. Several game practitioners, including Hwang Jae-ho, director of Dave the Diver, a popular game released by Nexon’s game sub-brand Mintrocket, and Choi Jin-hyuk, senior director of Shooter Headquarters, participated in the judging.
The grand prize went to the Seogang University Game Education Center’s “Seonbin-dong” club for “Over the Horizon,” and the second prize went to Yonsei University’s “PoolC” club for “Sabotris. The runners-up were “Reverie” and “Rabbit in Dungeon” from SNUGDC at Seoul National University, “CalmDownPrincess” from KING at Ewha Womans University, and “CMYK” from CAT&DOG at Korea University.
“There aren’t many events that indie games can participate in, but I think Nexon has helped us improve our competitiveness by holding this event every year,” said Choi Chan-wook, a member of the ‘Sunbindong’ club, who won the grand prize. “I’m grateful that so many people played and evaluated our game at this event, because I think it will give us a lot of strength to move forward until we actually release it.”
“Every year, the participants show the latest trends, technologies, and progressive thinking, so it seems that the NDM Game Production Presentation and the participants 카지노 grow together,” said Choi Jin-hyuk, a senior director who participated in the jury. “I am thrilled that your ambition and passion are being expressed in games, and I hope that we can work together at Nexon in the not-too-distant future.”
Meanwhile, Nexon is conducting industry-academia collaboration projects with various universities in Korea using its creative platform MapleStory World. Nexon is also making various efforts to foster young talent in the game industry and nurture prospective creators by holding game jams for university students across the country.
