Doosan Bears slugger Heo Kyung-min (34) led the league with five hits.
He started at third base in the lineup against the Kiwoom Heroes in the 2024 KBO League at Jamsil Stadium in Seoul, South Korea, and reached base in every at-bat as Doosan won the game. He finished the game with three hits, three RBIs and two walks.
Doosan defeated Kiwoom 7-4 to earn its 51st win of the season. After taking game one the day before, they took game two to complete a three-game sweep for the first time in the second half of the season. Doosan, which had struggled in the second half, losing seven of its first 10 games, recently shuffled its first-team coaching staff and parted ways with triple-hitting Henry Ramos. The team is looking to make a leap forward. It’s off to a strong start.
One of the team’s leaders, Kyung-min Heo, was impressive in all four of his at-bats until the seventh inning. Down 0-2 in the bottom of the first inning, Heo opened the scoring with a double to left field off the opposing pitcher, Ha Young-min. In the top of the fourth inning, he led off with a walk and was hit by a pitch. Doosan tied the game in the bottom of the inning when Yang Seok-hwan hit a two-run home run to left.
With the score tied at 2-2, Heo Kyung-min led off the sixth inning with a single to left off Ha Young-min. The next batter, Yang Ji-hyun, was thrown out at second on an infield grounder, but Doosan loaded the bases with a single by Kang Seung-ho and a 파워볼게임 walk to Park Joon-young, and Yang Chan-yeol scored on a wild pitch to make it 3-2.
He made his presence felt during Doosan’s big four-run inning. In the bottom of the seventh inning, leadoff hitter Jung Soo-bin hit an infield single and advanced to second on a dropped ball in the outfield. He stepped up to bat for the fifth time in the inning after the previous batter, Lee Yoo-chan, attempted a sacrifice bunt and was thrown out on a foul fly. He had a good at-bat and lined a single to right off pitcher Cho Young-gun to bring home Jung Soo-bin. Doosan loaded the bases in the next at-bat before Park Jun-young hit a two-run double to center field to bring home all three runners and extend the lead to 7-2.
Heo came back to the plate with two outs in the eighth inning and drew another walk, giving him five hits and five RBIs. Doosan held off a late rally from Kiwoom to win the game.
Heo Kyung-min has been struggling with a sore back that has kept him out of the starting lineup for some time, and while he was hitting in the high teens with a 3-for-4 average, his pace slowed down last week. However, after a multi-hit game one against Kiwoom the day before, he bounced back with five hits in game two.
