Vice Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Jang Jang-ran has traveled to Hangzhou, China, to encourage athletes competing at the Hangzhou Para Asian Games 2022.
Vice Minister Jang attended the “Opening Ceremony of the Korea House of the Hangzhou 2022 Para Asian Games” on the first floor of Sofitel Hangzhou Yingguan Hotel in Hangzhou, China, where she greeted key figures and officials from the Korean Para sports community.
“After the successful opening of the first Korea House of the Para Asian Games in Indonesia in 2018, I congratulate you for overcoming the COVID-19 pandemic to open the second Korea House here in Hangzhou,” said Minister Zhang at the event.
“The Republic of Korea is now the undisputed leader in Para sports in Asia, with an enabling environment and capabilities,” said Jang, who noted that the country has produced four consecutive IPC (International Paralympic Committee) Executive Board members, as well as demonstrating its diplomacy in Para sports in a variety of ways, including the International Para Youth Sports Camp, the Dream Program, and the International Para Sports Seminar. South Korea has produced four KPC presidents in the past: former KPC President Jang Hyang-sook in 2009, former Parliamentarian Na Kyung-won in 2014, former KPC President Kim Sung-il in 2017, and current KPC Vice President Jung Jae-joon.
“I think Korea House is an event that can promote the development of Korean Para sports and Korean culture,” said H.E. Jang. “I hope you will do your best in the remaining time to make Korea House an effective venue for international exchange and promotion of Korea.”
Vice Minister Zhang also traveled to Hangzhou, China, last month to cheer on athletes competing in the Asian Games (AG). “As an athlete, I competed in the Olympics and Asian Games, so I didn’t get to see any other games, but watching the last AG made me very nervous and brought tears to my eyes. I’m looking forward to their performance. I hope our athletes will show their full potential and achieve good results.”
After the ceremony, Vice Minister Jang moved to the 3rd floor, where the experience zones are located, and visited the -Korean food experience zone -K-beauty zone -K-POP VR experience zone -Traditional play experience zone -Boccia experience zone -VR sports experience zone -KPC merchandising exhibition zone -Insanekut photo booth.
After attending the APG opening ceremony on the 22nd, Vice Minister Jang Jang-ran will visit the stadium for three days until the 토토 24th to cheer on the athletes.
