Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation has infused over $4 billion of Foxwoods’ slot revenue into the Connecticut state economy through the Mashantucket Pequot Fund, supporting much-needed programs and services throughout Connecticut. Foxwoods’ contribution to the state in July 2019 is $9.8 million.
Foxwoods Summer of Dreams was in full effect last month, featuring unbeatable offerings and more than $3,000,000 up for grabs in cash and prizes. One lucky player, Terry Holmes of North Carolina, kicked the month off with a bang by winning $1,000,000 playing Foxwoods’ annual Firecracker Bingo. The chances to win continued as Foxwoods, in conjunction with Speedway Motorsports, introduced Pit Stop Casino, a new free-to-play online social gaming platform that gives fans the chance to win racing themed rewards. Users can play free slots and select table games online with the opportunity to earn credits toward prizes, Foxwoods hotel stays, show tickets and more.
Foxwoods’ entertainment lineup had something for everyone in July, including rock ‘n’ roll legends Alice Cooper and Kansas, comedic standouts Weird Al Yankovic and Rob Schneider, and country music favorites Reba McEntire and Steve Daggett. Nickelodeon’s JoJo Siwa performed a sold-out show at the Grand Theater, offering fans of the teen sensation the chance to see her off the screen and in person live for the first time ever.
In addition to a slew of activities on-property, The Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Council was excited to announce the appointment of the resort’s new President and CEO, John J. James. With over 25 years of Native American gaming resort operations experience, James took over for interim CEO and Tribal Chairman Rodney Butler on 12 August.
