KCC departs Jeonju for Busan

KCC, a professional basketball team, moves to Busan from its “22-year home” in Jeonju.

Professional basketball team KCC is moving from Jeonju, North Jeolla Province to Busan, South Korea.

The KBL held a board of directors meeting at the KBL Center in Gangnam-gu, Seoul this morning (March 30) to approve KCC’s change of affiliation.

This marks the 22nd year since KCC acquired the Daejeon Hyundai Gullivers professional basketball team in 2001 and changed its home base from Daejeon to Jeonju. The team will use Sajik Gymnasium in Busan, formerly used by KT, for its home stadium.

Sajik Gymnasium is currently utilized as a home stadium by Busan BNK, a women’s professional basketball team, and KCC decided to share a home stadium with BNK.

After the board meeting, KCC President Choi Hyung-gil said, “It was noisy due to the electricity pole and other issues,” explaining, “We have been patiently waiting for a smooth transition, but it has become a more difficult situation to bear.”

“We are most sorry to the fans of Jeonju who have supported us for 22 years,” he said, “We apologize to the KBL and other clubs for the inconvenience caused, and we will use this as an opportunity to become a new club for the development of all basketball.”

With the relocation of the KCC, 먹튀검증 Honam is now one of 10 teams in the professional basketball league.
