In a statement seen by Inside Asian Gaming, the company, which operates as OKBet VIP Club, said its board had decided to suspend all operations as of the end of business hours on August 15, 2023, and is currently making “necessary arrangements regarding guest/patron accounts.” These arrangements will be completed before August 31, 2023, it added.
Known to be based in Hong Kong, OKBet operated VIP rooms at several Philippine integrated resorts, including Okada Manila, Newport World Resort, City of Dreams Manila, one casino resort and NUSTAR, offering both land-based junket and proxy betting services.
Many operators of OKBet have confirmed to IAG that OKBet has closed their rooms in recent days, while IAG is aware of a shortage of funds with players lining up in Manila’s OKBet VIP room earlier in the week trying to withdraw funds. OKBet said in a statement that Okada’s office will be open to respond to all inquiries, adding: “Our goal is to ensure a smooth withdrawal of funds for our valued customers.”
While the company did not give a reason for the sudden closure, a source claimed it was related to the arrest of 10 people in Singapore this week on charges of counterfeiting, money laundering and resisting legal arrests.
Singapore police said they were arrested after obtaining information about possible illegal activities, including suspected use of forged documents used to prove the source of funds for Singapore bank accounts.프라그마틱 슬롯 사이트
“Through extensive investigations and intelligence tracking, including suspicious transaction report (STR) analysis, police identified a group of foreigners suspected of being involved in laundering criminal proceeds from organized crime activities abroad, including fraud and online gambling,” police said.
