“Show us your potential with a strong mentality”

144 South Korean national athletes participating in the 2024 Paris Olympics came together and vowed to fully demonstrate their skills over the past four years.

The Korean national team held a ceremony for the 2024 Paris Olympics at Olympic Hall in Seoul on Tuesday. Three days later, the team will depart for pre-camp there, starting with badminton and shooting teams. All the athletes gathered and pledged to promote the championship.

At the event, a video clip introducing coaches and athletes in respective sports was screened. The team continued its Olympic determination by applauding athletes in respective sports, including archery, which aims to win the 10th consecutive Olympic gold medal (women’s team) for the first time in a single event, taekwondo, which seeks to restore the pride of the nation’s leader, and the breaking national team, which was adopted as an official event for the first time in this year’s event.

Prime Minister Han Duck-soo, National Assembly Culture, Sports and Tourism Committee Chairman Jeon Jae-soo, and Korea Sports Committee Chairman Lee Ki-heung also offered words of blessing to the athletes. More than 10,500 athletes from 206 countries (329 detailed events in 32 sports) will participate in the Paris Olympics, which will be held from the 26th to the 11th of next month. South Korea will head to Paris with 144 athletes and 118 leaders in 22 sports.
