Taiwan P.LEAGUE+ champions New Taipei Kings and runners-up Taoyuan Pauian Pilots have qualified for the East Asian Super League (“EASL”) 2024-25 season.
The New Taipei Kings will be drawn in Group B of the EASL 2024-25 Group Stage, where they will face the Busan KCC Aegis, winners of the KBL 2023-24 in South Korea, the Ryukyu Golden Kings, runners-up in the B.LEAGUE, and the PBA 2023-24 Conference runners-up in the Philippines.
The Taoyuan Pauian Pilots are in Group A, where they will face Japan’s B.LEAGUE 2023-24 champion Hiroshima Dragon Flyers, KBL runner-up Suwon KT Sonic Boom, 안전놀이터 and the PBA champions.
The New Taipei Kings were crowned champions of the P.LEAGUE+ 2023-24 season after defeating the Taoyuan Pauian Pilots 4-1 in the championship series.
The groupings for the EASL 2024-25 season were agreed upon by the participating leagues and pre-set earlier this year.
To date, the groupings are as follows
Group A: Suwon KT Sonic Boom, Hiroshima Dragon Flyers, Taoyuan Pauian Pilots – PBA champions; Group B: Busan KCC Aegis, Ryukyu Golden Kings, New Taipei Kings – PBA runners-up.
