At Chung’s retirement ceremony, a plaque of appreciation, a commemorative frame, a bouquet of flowers and a signed uniform frame will be delivered, and after the ceremony, Chung will participate in the opening ceremony. “I would like to express my sincere gratitude to the team and the club for preparing for the retirement ceremony. I will become a coach who contributes to the team and repay the overflowing love that I have received from my fans over the past 15 years,” Chung said.
Chung joined the team in 2009 and played only for the LG Twins until 2023, recording a career batting average of 0.237, 392 hits, 153 RBIs, 260 runs, and 68 steals in 762 games during his 15 professional seasons. As a player, he played an all-or-nothing role in the team, and has been serving as the base running coach for the remaining troops since 2024 to pass on his experiences and know-how to his juniors.
