“We successfully completed the first and second camps without a single loser. It was possible thanks to all the hard work of the team, coaching staff and staff,” Doosan manager Lee Seung-yeop said. “A real war will begin now. We will prepare thoroughly and show good performance from Friday (opening game).”

Beast Kim Min-hyuk and pitcher Kim Taek-yeon were selected as the MVP of the spring camp selected by coach Lee and other coaches.

Kim Min-hyuk hit .421 (8 hits in 19 at-bats) with two home runs and eight RBIs in seven practice games, while Kim Taek-yeon pitched in four games and posted an ERA of 0.00 with one hit and eight strikeouts in four ⅓.

“I really enjoyed playing baseball throughout the camp. I’m more satisfied with my mental growth than my batting record,” Kim said. “I finished the camp well in the direction I wanted. I will continue my current mindset and show my best in front of fans.”

“(MVP) did not expect this at all,” Kim Taek-yeon said. “The camp is a process. We are going as well as we have prepared, but we should not be satisfied. We will thoroughly prepare for the remaining process to show better performance during the regular season.”

Doosan will play its first KBO League exhibition game against Kiwoom Heroes at Icheon Bears Park at 1 p.m. on the 9th.
