In the future, athletes entering physical education will be able to conveniently submit their ‘athlete performance certificates’ online, which used to be printed out on paper and submitted to universities. The Korea Sports Council announced that it held a report on the launch of the ‘Blockchain-based Lifecycle Sports Athlete History and Performance Management Platform (Blockchain Platform)’ project, which enables this change, on the 18th in the conference room of the Korea Sports Council. Once completed, the project will completely change the way athletes issue and submit performance certificates. Athletes’ performance certificates are documents submitted to entrance examinations for specialised athletes, but until now, students had to print out the certificates on paper and submit them directly to universities. However, from the end of the year, when the blockchain platform is in place, athletes will be able to convert their performance certificates into digital form and automatically send them online to the institution. The change is expected to reduce the amount of paper and postage, save costs, and move closer to environmental protection and ESG (environmental, social responsibility, and corporate governance) management. “We will continue to strive to spread digitalisation in the sports sector through the introduction of new technologies in the 스포츠토토 fourth industrial revolution,” said the NOC.
